How to Be Involved

.

1. Individually put up your listings with Handmade Help somewhere in the title on Etsy or ANYWHERE in cyberspace that you fancy. If you are donating percentages of sales from your whole shop - tell us! If you have any concerns about listing, Silly Gilly has kindly offered to do listings for people. If you want to list on EBay please read this first.
2. If you have a blog please post about what you are auctioning and where you are going to send the donation to.
3. Send any of the lovely ladies listed in the side bar the link to the listing and it will be posted with a picture and details.
4. Once the listing is sold, you post out the goods and send in you donation individually, we will let everyone decide if they are taking out postage and listing fees, just let people know.
ALL DONATIONS MUST GO TO RED CROSS OR WILDLIFE VICTORIA.
5. Then Email Cindy (Links in side bar) the following:
  • Your Item Description
  • The Charity You Donated To
  • Amount Raised In $AUD
  • Receipt number
6. Become a follower of the blog so that you can get regular updates on what auctions are coming up.
7. Don't forget to bid. EMAIL ALL YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY TO LET THEM KNOW THAT THEY CAN GET LOTS OF BEAUTIFUL HANDMADE ITEMS HERE OVER THE NEXT FEW WEEKS AND HELP A GREAT CAUSE TOO.

Also if you leave a comment and are a non-reply blogger please include your email so we can get back to you.

I know a few people seem a little concerned that what they put up will not sell, please don't - someone WILL love it. Trust me, just hold my hand and get it out there.

Happy to help Cindy ... when do you want the listings to go on eBay? Did you want them to start on the same day?
Hugs,
Joy :o)

4 weeks is plenty of time for me to whip up a quilt for this very worthy cause. Let me know if there are any finer details I need to know. My hands need to be doing something to help, and I feel a little useless up here in Queensland. Hope fully this will help.
Cheers, Selina.

Cherry We belong to a patchworking group in Qld and wanted to do a similar thing we contacted the Victorian Quilters Guild and they will distribute Quilts or donations of items to get peoples sewing rooms back up and running (cutters, fabric, pins, markers, needles etc). Our group is specifically making childrens quilts, I was thinking perhaps some of the nursing homes might need quilts for residents or smaller lap quilts for the wheelchair bound.

Hi Cindy

Re: Handmade horticulture

I have a sustainable living type blog and there is a huge community of similar bloggers out there. Personally, I could help contribute knowledge about getting soils up and running again or planning the vege garden or orchard, but would not be so good at the ornamental side of things. But there are plenty of others out there who might also help - a team might make the task not so daunting.

What do you think?

Hi, this is a fantastic idea. I would like to put the button on my own website but i need the html code for it. As someone else also wants it could you please add the code somewhere on here so i can set up a link on my site www.kimtdesigns.com
I am also looking into which pieces of art i am able to donate or sell to go towards the appeal as well. Thanks from Kim

Knit a Square - Give a Blanket!
Drop in a square you have knitted and we'll sew it together to make a blanket for a family in need. squares need to be pure 8ply wool and 20cm square.
All the drop off details are on the blog or website or you could pop in to the shop.
http://littlesparrowshop.blogspot.com
http://littlesparrow.net.au
A discount on all wool purchased to knit for the blankets will be given.
Hopefully we can send a few single bed sized blankets up the hill to some of the kids who have lost their blankies! xShelley

I need the actual address to email donation details to (Cindy), I've just had my computer re formatted & can't get the stupid email to set up right, so I need to be able to manually enter email addresses; which I can't see here since they're hidden behind rich text.
